Stones

Stone have been used since the stoneage, because stones have a lot of advantages like durability, adaptability to sculptural treatment but it´s difficult to quarry transport and cut. It´s weakness is tension limits. This material is used for beams, lintels and floor supports. Also, stone is used in entublatures in greek temples but the weight creates problems of stability. The simplest and cheapest stonework is "rubble" and the strongest and most suitable stonework is "ashlar mansory". With the pass of the years stone have been replaced by more efficient manufactured products like wood.

This is an english project, here I will post all the activities that I need in this subject. After that this will turn out an architecture blog.
